Meet Brittany

Brittany Ayala is an experienced education professional, student advocate, and proud Martinez resident who has spent her career helping young people succeed.
Her leadership is driven by one guiding principle: students come first.
Brittany Ayala’s story is rooted in resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to educational equity. A proud graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, with a dual degree in Political Science and Chicano Studies, Brittany has devoted her career to expanding college access for historically underserved and underrepresented students. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Counseling, Higher Education, and Student Affairs at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she is further strengthening her expertise in student advocacy, education policy, and academic counseling.
As a UC Transfer Specialist at UC Berkeley’s Center for Educational Partnerships, Brittany has guided hundreds of students—many of them first-generation college students, low-income families, and working parents—through the complex college admissions and financial aid process. She has built strong partnerships with Bay Area high schools and community colleges to ensure that all students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), 504 plans, and other academic challenges, receive the support and resources needed to succeed in higher education and career pathways.
A public school parent and lifelong advocate for public education, Brittany understands the critical need for high-quality schools, well-supported teachers, and safe, inclusive learning environments. Her platform prioritizes teacher retention, student resource investment, and expanded college and career opportunities—ensuring that every student, whether they’re college-bound or entering a skilled trade, has the tools and guidance to thrive.
Brittany AYALA is not only qualified—she is the right choice for Martinez students.
Qualified, Committed and Ready to Lead

As the first Latina unanimously appointed to the Martinez School District Board of Trustees, she represents the future of our district. Her appointment was based on experience, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to education. She is ready to continue fighting for students, teachers, and families.

No one is more prepared, more committed, or more experienced than bRITTANY ayALA.

strengthen college and career pathways
Expand equitable opportunities that prepare all students—including those from socioeconomically and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds—for success in universities, trade schools, and high-paying careers.

prioritize mental health and school safety
Advocate for more counselors, anti-bullying initiatives, and policies that create a safe, inclusive environment for all.

support teachers and staff
Push for fair wages, professional development, and the resources our educators need to do their jobs effectively.

amplify parent and community voices
Amplify parent and community voices by ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible budgeting—because families deserve a real say in how decisions are made, especially as we navigate a $2.1 million district deficit.

The future of the Martinez Unified School District depends on experienced, student-focused leadership—leadership that puts students first, supports dedicated teachers, and invests in educational programs that prepare young people for college, careers, and lifelong success. With a proven track record in education equity and student advocacy, Brittany Ayala is ready to lead our district forward and fight for a better future for all students.
On June 17, voters in Martinez have the opportunity to elect a qualified educator and community leader who is focused on serving our students and strengthening our education. Not on disrupting it. Together, we can build stronger schools, support our teachers, and ensure that every student—regardless of background—has the opportunity to thrive.
